Mercury Plastics is seeking experienced, Account Managers with knowledge in custom thermoform manufacturing particularly focused on NON-FOOD packaging sales.  The appropriate candidate will have the ability to sell custom projects related to Point-of-Purchase Displays and Packaging (i.e. Clamshells, Blisters, Trays, etc.).     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Packaging or a technical field.

  • Five plus years of NON-Food packaging sales. 

  • Hunter mentality that is innovative in creating new strategies to generate business opportunities.

  • Ability to read blue prints, interpret technical details and have a sound understanding of plastic materials (PET, PS, ABS, etc.); as well as thermoform manufacturing methods.

  • Proficient if Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Experience with ERP & CRM systems.

Position Summary: Responsible for developing and closing new account sales within the following Industries: Point-of-Purchase, OEM, Industrial, and Consumer Retail.      

Position Responsibilities:

  • Comfortable selling custom packaging projects that require tooling packages.  These projects may range in dollar values from $25K to $5M (monthly, quarterly, or annually). 

  • Maintaining and growing customer relationships by identifying new products and cross-selling opportunities for our other manufacturing capabilities.

  • Managing the sales process from prospect to close, including qualification, presentation, solution development with high probability of closing sales.

  • Value-added sales approach based upon packaging knowledge and professionalism.

  • Work closely with project managers and all manufacturing leaders to ensure accurate and timely information is obtained for efficient manufacturing practices; while providing accurate client pricing and maintaining company margin objectives.  

  • Highly flexible with regard to travelling across multiple states where business opportunities exist.

  • Employee may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
